Computer Engineering Co-op Student — McMaster University

I take things apart to understand them, then build something better. Lately that means designing grippers, wiring motors, and writing the code that ties it together on robotics teams at McMaster.

I work across the whole stack — CAD one day, motor control and Python the next, then debugging why the build doesn't match the model. That gap, where the plan meets real hardware, is where I learn the most.

Part-time job alongside full-time studies, plus a commute. Time is the resource I plan around. Outside engineering: strength training, martial arts, gaming.

Full IB Diploma — sciences, math, and humanities, with the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and CAS. Two years of independent research that pointed me at engineering.

Skills

What I bring

Built across coursework and team robotics projects.

</> Software & Scripting

Python for hardware control and state handling — coordinate systems and functions a whole team can edit.

CAD & Mechanical Design

Autodesk Inventor for end-effectors and mechanisms, iterated across prototype generations on test data.

Robotics & Controls

Quanser Q-arm — motor-driven grippers, coordinate-based motion, closed-loop testing against real-world uncertainty.

Rapid Prototyping

Prusa MK4S printing and hands-on fabrication — CAD model to testable hardware fast, then iterate on what fails.

Circuit Wiring

Motors, sensors, and controllers wired into working electromechanical systems.

Project & Team Management

Test plans, decision matrices, and a team of five kept aligned on deadlines and trade-offs.
